How do you develop your organization's
executives of the future? Research indicates that top performers
can be as much as 1000% more productive than your average
employee. Yet, it takes 10 years to develop even a top performing
leader to be successful in an executive role. In order to
retain high potential individuals, organizations must continue to
invest in their training and development. The Emerging Leader
program can help you do just that.
The Emerging Leader program is a yearlong leadership and business
skill development program for high potential future executives
in corporate,
government and non-profit business organizations.
In addition to experiential leadership and development training
using local, regional and national thought leaders and top UD
School of Business professors as facilitators, the program
includes multiple assessments, networking with other high
potential leaders, executive coaching and a formal mentoring
program. Emerging Leaders graduate with the skills and
confidence needed to be successful at the next level and beyond.
Individual programs feature a broad array of topics including:
Building Effective Teams, Leading Change, Finance for
Non-Financial Managers, Operations Management, Marketing
Essentials, Strategic Business Development, Business Simulation,
Coaching for Performance, Communicating at the Executive Level,
Key Ways to Influence Relationships, Fostering Creativity,
Leadership Challenge, Managing Corporate Culture and Trust, and
Managing Management Time.
Ideal for top performing leaders with 10 or more years
experience and an advanced degree or combined equivalent
experience. Organizations should identify Emerging Leaders as
having the potential to advance into an executive role. Your
company’s selection and support of these Emerging Leaders
will enable them to move into
executive roles seamlessly, confidently, and successfully.
The cost of the Emerging Leader program is $12,000. In addition
to 18 days of business skills and leadership development training, assessments, mentoring, coaching
and networking, Emerging Leaders receive admission to two of the
Center for Leadership & Executive Development’s
executive development programs during the 12 months following graduation.
Classes for Emerging Leaders begin January and August of each
year.

"You will be frustrated. You will be uncomfortable. You will be
challenged. You will learn about yourself. You will love it. The
University of Dayton has gathered a diverse group of local and
national personalities who are experts in different parts of the
leadership equation. These experts provide real world examples of
what makes a successful leader and why. With the help of my mentor,
I have been astounded to look at the recent past to discover that 'I
led my team to accomplish all of this?' The University of Dayton's
Emerging Leader program is run by professionals who really do care
about your success."
Stewart Campbell, Director of Manufacturing Engineering &
Facilities, Smiths Aerospace

"As an Air Force program manager, I have had the privilege
of attending numerous professional development and/or training
programs that have been exceptional in content, providing relevant
information compiled from multiple sources. The Emerging Leader
program has stood above all of these in terms of delivery. The
high-quality of the instructors, those who have shared real world
experiences, are what makes this program truly exceptional. Many of
these instructors are principal authors and/or have contributed to
the original texts of which they apply in the class."
Doug Dolvin, Senior Aerospace Engineer, Wright-Patterson
Air Force Base

"I found the Emerging Leader program to be a most valuable
opportunity, both personally and professionally. We had the
privilege of hearing from some dynamic leaders, being formally
mentored and supported by leaders in our organization that we
greatly respect and admire, and interacting and building
relationships with other Dayton Community Leaders. The Emerging
Leader program inspired me to learn and improve, and to develop
habits and more effective ways to be successful. The Emerging Leader
program encouraged all of us to continually assess our character,
behaviors and personal values and align our behaviors with our
values."
Darlene Holder, Director of Parking Services, University
of Dayton

"What I have really enjoyed about the Emerging Leader program
is the fact that all the classes have been fast paced and extremely
relevant for leaders of today. The instructors have all been first
class with their content and delivery. I would recommend this program
to all leaders looking for an edge."
Jim Richmond, Area Services Director, Reynolds

"The Emerging Leader program has been a wonderful opportunity
for me, both professionally and personally. I am one of those individuals
who, after many years with my company, have just begun to realize
my potential as a leader. This program has provided excellent visibility
to senior management of my talents and put me at the front of the
pack of those seeking higher-level opportunities. I've had the chance
to interact with other leadership candidates from other companies
within the Dayton community and build what I hope will be enduring
business relationships. Personally, the Emerging Leader program
has given me tremendous confidence and a newfound respect for my
leadership abilities. It has been very gratifying to me to discover,
even at this late stage of my career, that I can still compete at
a high level."
Robert Hole, Director, Americas Business Operations Center,
